LPGA Announces New Sponsor for Portland Classic

AmazingCre takes over as title sponsor from Cambia Health Solutions

 

One of the LPGA Tours longest running events has a new title sponsor. Formerly known as the Cambia Portland Classic, the event that has been on the LPGA calendar for the past 51 years. This year, South Korean company AmazingCre has signed on to become the title sponsor of the event for 2022. In addition to signing on as the title sponsor for this season, the prize amount has also been increased to $1.5 Million.

AmazingCre is a Korean based sports apparel and equipment brand focused on unique and functional design. The CEO of AmazingCre, Yong Moon You, sees the new sponsorship of this event as an important step in building their brand and aligning with the LPGA.

“The Portland Classic has a long and storied history. AmazingCre is striving to become a brand that has earned the trust and respect of golf fans around the world in the same way that this tournament has delivered on its promise over the past 50 years.”

The Portland Classic has become an important part of the local economy while highlighting women’s sports.

In addition to new title sponsor, the event will again be hosted at the Columbia Edgewater Country Club which has been the host course for 35 years. Mark Gantz, Chair of the Tournament Golf Foundation was delighted at the announcements, coming as welcome news to the tournament organizing committee.

It is exciting to be back at Columbia Edgewater Country Club, a course the players look forward to seeing as the cornerstone on their tour.”

AmazingCre opened its first retails store in April 2020, expanding to 37 different locations since then. The company recorded a sales of ₩ 20 Billion (Korean Won) in 2021 and is looking to continue its growth through new locations and brand expansion.
