Managing Editor "pleasantly surprised" with honours
Despite being fairly new, the World of Golf was recently recognized for its work in producing digital golf news, tips, and information through its website and podcast platforms. On January 24th of this year, the World of Golf was recognized as one of the “Top 20 Golf Websites & Blogs in Canada” and then 4 days later the company was recognized again as being one of the “Top 40 PGA/LPGA Tour Podcasts to Follow in 2021” for its new podcast show – “We’re Talking Golf”.
The recognition came from Feedspot.com, a popular RSS feed reader. While just under a year old in its operation, the World of Golf was caught a little off-guard by the recognition.
“We were pleasantly surprised that our work was being recognized as we are new to the digital golf media business” said Douglas Maida the managing editor for the World of Golf.
“We have focused on bringing golf news, tips and information to the world through our website and social media platforms. Then we launched our podcast show in September and were fortunate to have great guests such as Karen Stupples, Beth Ann Nichols and Sophie Walker – so it is very much a team effort.”
The World of Golf is embarking on its second year of operation promising to bring even more golf news and information to its audiences, “We’ve learned so much in this first year regarding our business and now we are building on that success fine-tuning things for our second year of operation. That includes a newly redesigned website, expanded social media presence and great stories to tell, whether it be on the website or through our podcasts.” The World of Golf is focused on bringing golf news and information to its audiences around the world, while also providing coverage for under-represented groups in golf such as women and junior players of diverse backgrounds.
Feedspot.com is an RSS reader that checks a user's feeds regularly for new information and can automatically download it for that user including things such as website stories, podcast episodes and more.
